January Contrasts - 9 1/2" x 22" - Watercolor
I have been painting the local landscape in watercolors for the past fifty plus years. My interest and love for the rural scene is evident in my paintings, particularly old barns and farmhouses. Seashore subject matter began in 1984, when I spent a week on Monhegan Island, Maine. I have returned to the island for a week or two each summer since then.
I have always enjoyed teaching and continue to have eight classes a week in various locations. I am blessed to have full classes with waiting lists for several groups. I also have some very talented students who have been in my classes for many years.
Subject matter to paint in Central New York is unlimited, but over the years the rural landscape is dwindling, especially the old farm buildings. Many of the old barns that I have painted are no longer standing.
